Grevillea robusta, commonly known as the Silver Oak or Silk Oak, is a fast-growing, evergreen tree valued for its fern-like silver-green foliage and vibrant golden-orange flowers. Native to Australia, it is widely planted across tropical and subtropical regions for timber, shade, landscaping, and windbreak purposes.
Reaching heights of 40 to 80 feet, Grevillea robusta makes an excellent avenue or boundary tree thanks to its tall, upright growth and minimal leaf litter. Its striking appearance and relatively low water requirement make it ideal for urban greening, agroforestry, and road medians. The golden flowers bloom in spring and early summer, attracting bees, butterflies, and birds—enhancing biodiversity.
