Cassia-Siamea

Cassia siamea, commonly referred to as the Siamese Cassia or Kassod Tree, is a fast-growing, evergreen to semi-evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia and widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. Admired for its attractive bright yellow flowers, glossy green foliage, and upright structure, it’s commonly used in avenue planting, roadside beautification, and agroforestry systems.

This hardy species is well-known for its drought tolerance, pest resistance, and ability to thrive in poor soils, making it ideal for low-maintenance landscapes and soil rehabilitation projects. The tree also has medicinal value, with parts of it used traditionally in herbal remedies, though it must be used cautiously due to certain alkaloids.
