Achras Sapota Cheeku

Achras sapota, also referred to as Cheeku or Sapodilla, is a tropical evergreen tree native to Central America and widely cultivated in India and other tropical regions. The tree grows up to 20 meters tall and features glossy, dark green leaves and small, round, brown fruits with a sweet, grainy pulp. These fruits are rich in digestible sugars, fiber, and essential nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, and iron. Achras sapota thrives in warm climates and well-draining soil, making it ideal for gardens and commercial orchards. The tree is low-maintenance and drought-tolerant once established. In addition to its fruit, the tree produces latex used in chewing gum production.
