Delonix regia, widely known as the Flame Tree or Gulmohar, is one of the most spectacular tropical flowering trees admired for its fiery red to orange blossoms and wide umbrella-shaped canopy. Native to Madagascar and now cultivated globally, this deciduous tree is a favorite in avenue planting, urban landscaping, gardens, and parks for its dramatic seasonal bloom and excellent shade cover.
The tree typically grows 30–40 feet tall and spreads wide, making it perfect for creating natural shade in large spaces. During the flowering season—usually late spring to early summer—the tree bursts into a blaze of color, completely covered with vibrant flowers. Its finely divided, fern-like leaves add delicate texture, contrasting beautifully with the bold blooms.
