Millingtonia hortensis, widely known as the Indian Cork Tree or Tree Jasmine, is a fast-growing, ornamental tree admired for its fragrant white flowers, elegant structure, and cooling shade. Native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, this deciduous tree is ideal for urban landscapes, garden avenues, temples, and residential compounds due to its aesthetic and environmental benefits.
Growing up to 60–80 feet tall, the Indian Cork Tree features a tall, straight trunk with a narrow crown and clusters of bell-shaped white flowers that bloom profusely in the early morning and fall by afternoon, forming a carpet of blooms underneath. The flowers are delicately scented, attracting bees and butterflies, and are often used in garlands and temple offerings.
